What is an Attendance Zone?
Geographic boundary determining which school students are assigned to by default. Zone demographics ≠ actual enrollment.
What does Travel Mode show?
Travel time to the geographically nearest open school (not assigned school). Uses Dijkstra shortest-path on actual road networks.
What are Walk Zones?
CHCCS-designated areas where students are considered close enough to walk to school. Traffic from walk zones is excluded when masking is enabled.
"Current school zone" vs "Closest school"?
Current school zone: Routes to assigned attendance zone school. Closest school: Routes to geographically nearest school.
What does "Mask Walk Zones" do?
Excludes traffic from children in walk zones of open schools (assumes they walk, not drive). Closed school walk zones are never masked since those children must now drive.
